Intro Class Terms & Conditions
Access to the gym and dance rooms, clothing
Access to our rooms is exclusively reserved for children registered for the current class, or accompanied by an adult for Parent/Child classes. To ensure your children’s safety in the gym, they must be barefoot, in comfortable clothing and with their long hair tied back. All adults in the room are asked to remove their shoes. Jewelry, food, drinks and chewing gum are not permitted in the gym or dance hall. The Little Gym is not responsible for lost or stolen items. For parent-child classes, siblings not taking part in the session must be supervised by an adult. We do not offer daycare services, and spectators are your responsibility.

Class Observation
Parents are welcome to drop off children at the door for collection by our teachers, and those happy to drop and run are encouraged to do so. Parents who choose to stay are welcome to use the chairs and sofas in the lobby whilst watching class. Siblings are not permitted to be in class unless they are enrolled in that class. Adults who stay and work in our lobby are invited to wear headphones and stay discreet when in calls or meetings. No food can be eaten in the lobby Food may only be eaten in the kitchen, which is available to families. Parents are asked to clean the table and put away their dishes after a snack or meal.

Responsibilities
We make every reasonable effort to ensure the safety of children in the gym and while they are in the lobby. Parents or legal guardians are ultimately responsible for seeing the safe entry and exit of their children in to the gym and remain responsible for children in the lobby areas.

Behavioural Issues
If a child is being disruptive, destructive, or dangerous to themselves, other children, or staff members during class or special events, we will make every effort to work with parents and the child in question to resolve this behaviour. If the behaviour persists or other undesired behaviours develop, the child in question will be asked to take a break from the class or event. If your child has a physical disability or special needs, please contact the gym to see how we can best meet their requirements.

Arrivals and Departures
If your child is to be collected by someone other than a parent/carer, this must be indicated to a member of staff and recorded at the start of the intro class. Only adults – aged 18 years and over, will be authorised to collect children at your request. In the event that someone else should arrive without prior knowledge, The Little Gym will telephone the emergency contact to confirm.

Major Accident, Incident or Illness
The Little Gym requires that you sign the Medical Attention Waiver. This enables the Manager or any member of staff so empowered, to give permission for emergency medical treatment for your child in the event of a major accident, incident, or illness occurring at The Little Gym. You will be made fully aware of the details of any incidents involving your child’s health and safety, and any actions taken by The Little Gym and its staff.

Minor Accident, Incident or Illness
If your child does not need hospital treatment and is judged to be able to safely remain at The Little Gym, he/she will be removed from the activities and, if appropriate, the qualified First Aider will treat the injury/illness. If this is deemed inappropriate, but does not warrant hospitalisation, the emergency contact will be contacted immediately and asked to collect your child.

Medication
Staff may only administer medication to your child if it is prescribed by a GP and if the request to do so is given in writing at the start of a camp. A request can be made by completing and signing the Consent to Administer Medicine Form.

Sick Children
The Little Gym is committed to the health and safety of all children and staff, who play, learn and work here. If your child is ill, please follow your doctor’s advice and government guidelines. We will be happy to book another appointment for your introductory visit.`

Behaviour Management
The philosophy of The Little Gym is to reward good behaviour with praise and support and set out clear boundaries through the class structure and rules. We aim to provide a very positive environment and encourage children to try their best not to be the best. In general, we will disregard negative behaviour unless there is a safety issue or the behaviour is disruptive to the rest of the group. If a child continues to be disruptive, the child will be removed from the activities and the child’s parents will be contacted. For children aged 3+ parents are not required or permitted to enter the gym without prior discussion with the class lead teacher. This takes authority away from the class teacher and prevents relationships and trust building between the team and child.
